1803 Copper Five Cash

Soho Mint – Copper Five Cash 1803

The V cash proof and pattern issues differ from the V cash currency coins in that the flags are nearly vertical and point between the letters N & D. Catalogues have featured proofs with small letters on the obverse, but none have been examined. The small letter currency coin is often nicely struck and could be mistaken for a proof.

EAST INDIA COMPANY
On the ribbon is the inscription:
AUSPICIO REGIS & SENATUS ANGLIAE
All within a raised toothed rim.

Reverse:
The value in Persian:
Panj kas yek falus ast = Five cash make one falus.
